CONTENT SUMMARY

History in the main is a record of human activities. This could be in creation, renovation, or destruction. Without man, history will be void. History is about events, impacts and their consequences in time. It is therefore imperative that we (humans) the history recorder, submit our story in an explicit and succinct manner not only for future reference but more importantly, to augment the knowledge-base from which future deliberations can be made with informed choices.

The Coalition Forces attack on Iraq in March 2003 appends to the world-history database like all the other major events gone before. While the poor still suffers, the Coalition Forces can afford to splash $150,000,000,000 on unproductive action. The world population as at 2004 was 6,000,000,000. The quotient of $150,000,000,000 over 6,000,000,000 on a daily basis can keep poverty at bay for more than ¾ of the world’s population. This shows that poverty may not be the worst problem facing the world. My friends sponsored my tours to some cities of the world; at each location, I saw different people, signaling that north or south, East or West may not be the problem. What then is the problem? It has to do with humans and their judgments. In the past, volumes of work had been written about environments, systems and materials, this book is not seeking for evidence elsewhere but among humans. What have we done that is turning the world upside down?

This work is divided into three parts. The first is about the fate of Iraq nationally, regionally and internationally. The second part is about the implications of the invasion of Iraq on the World Order including on globalization. The third dwelling on ‘where there is life, there is hope’ implies that there is remedy to any problem; and in this, the adage: ‘problem shared is problem solved’ brings the intention of the World Order to its greatest test.

Chapter one is an overview of the backgrounds that gave rise to the action. At the end of it, one would have learnt of the light and dark side of Iraq that ignited the fire. As history feeds people, it takes them along as players, spectators or victims to reinforce its stocks.

Chapter two looks at the possible reasons for the actions. The problem with history is that it translocates the deeds of a generation to another, thereby making the latter to become the culprit of the former. The action on Iraq in 2003 was not based on the events of that year alone.

Chapter 3 looks at the consequences and cost of the action. Beyond our ages, we might be indicted with the sins of Adam, even if we are living differently today. Worried of the age of the past, the current players are admonished of provoking weights that they may not be able to carry.

No one had estimated the impacts of this action except from the feelings and experiences of the Iraqis. As for the rest, they can only imagine the implications of the action. It was not terrifying enough to some humans until the Tsunami of 26 December 2004. Then, some humans realized the precarious state of humans on earth. Tsunami added some heat as the manner of it sent a strong signal to the fate facing humans with or without their consents. Chapter 4 deals with the implications of the invasion of Iraq on the World Order and what World Order should do.

Like the storm, which found us naked to natural justice, the actions in Iraq left some rooms for further actions. Should we prefer nakedness or find something to cover up? Like the Tsunami, Iraqi storm and the 11 September fiasco in the USA in 2001, the experiences linked humans together and leave them to decide their future fate. What hope awaits the World Order and what signs shall the New World Order be measured form the topics of chapter 5. Failure to learn from the corollaries will slump the world to greater chaos.

Chapter 6 globalization is our real subject. With withered hands and feet, AIDS/HIV, global warming, deaf ears, blind eyes and constricture of hearts (in hijack, hostage, kidnap, terrorism, etc), what does globalization hold? The opportunities of the post-WW2 and the post-Cold War have not been tapped. The overhauling of nationalism and corporate accountability is still outstanding. Without proper sense of ownership and accountability, what will globalization produce?

What is the best way to treat a storm? Is it to allow the holes to take all souls to fill or take constructive actions to remedy and avoid future occurrence? In the case of Tsunami, the responses were constructively rapid but that of Iraq was confusing. The history above opened Iraq up for criticisms, which were directed to their leaders and not to the masses. At the point of ousting their leaders, the masses were to be calm and watch developments. They have two fighting points if they wished namely, at the time of invasion to stop ousting their leaders and secondly against abuses by future leaders, who would correct the ills of the past. Thus, their actions aimed at fellow citizens cannot be reconciled. Okay, it has happened (chapter 7) looks forward into the future. As the Tsunami victims calmed down, the Iraqis irrespective of their feelings should calm down to amend, as acting in a state of confusion will lead to greater chaos.

Upon these backgrounds, this work aims to move Iraq and move the world about something yet to happen in this millennium. Remember that failure to act properly is no longer an excuse because the forces of nature will check our readiness to co-operate. It is the latter that heals or enlarges judgment. Look back but look more to the future.

The work is transitional leading to the real New World Order. There is no doubt that by the time it comes out many lives might have passed away, but after war, there will be life and peace. Thus, I am striving for peace and the life that would embrace it. I am sure by the special grace of God that the world will not witness war again. If by care and caution, we avoid war and blood, then, we shall advance into real peace, where human would benefit and not suffer anymore. May my generation witness such peace!
